完形填空:日常生活篇(共100小题;每小题1.5分;满分150分)

A

My wife and I moved into our home two years ago. We had a yard with a lot of 41 . Very often when we have flowers, Denise or I would plant some between the rocks, just to add some 42 to the area.

Last summer, I found a tiny little 43 in the yard that I could not immediately identify. I knew I didn’t plant it and Denise said she didn’t either. We decided to let it 44 growing until we could find out what it was.

Weeks passed and as I made my way back to the 45 plant, it appeared to be a

sunflower. I decided to 46 the weeds around it. As I pulled rocks from the area to get to the weeds, I noticed something 47 . The sunflower had not 48 where I saw it begin. It actually had begun under a big49 and grown under and around it to reach the 50 . That’s when I 51 that if a tiny little sunflower didn’t let a big rock stand in its 52 of developing, we too have the ability of doing the same thing. If we 53 ourselves like that little sunflower, we can reach where we to go and get what we need for growth.

We need to believe in ourselves knowing we have the 55 to achieve our goals. Like the 56 , it knew it had the ability to get over the rocks because it had 57 in itself that it would succeed. Stand tall like the sunflower and be 58 who and what we are, then the environment will begin to 59 us. We will find a way to go under or 60 any “rocks” in order to reach our goals.

A Deed a Day

It was a busy day as usual. I was making sandwiches and balancing the phone

between my shoulder and chin. The washing machine sounded as my husband walked in with our daughters. We had only about twenty minutes to eat 41 we had to take the girls to their next activity. My husband seemed a bit 42 that dinner was not on the table.

That night, I had a heavy43 , thinking we were becoming taskmasters on an assembly line (流水线). We had become too44 in our own tasks and not very considerate towards those around us. We needed to do something to bring back some meaning into our lives. It needed to be something that would45 our own agendas and energize us toward the common good.

I bought a notebook, named it “Our Deed Diary” and held a family meeting. I told my family I wanted us all to think about doing a 46 for others every day. It could be for each other or for people outside our47 . And we all needed to write it down in the notebook.

I thought one deed a day was too easy. However, it was actually 48than it seemed because it had to be something 49what we had already done. Sending birthday cards to people we already sent cards to every year would not 50 .

We had a rough 51 . On some days, someone would forget to 52 a good deed, while on other days, we would forget to write our good deeds in the diary. After a few weeks though, I found myself waking up in the morning trying to 53 what good deed I could do for someone that day. My daughters began to rush to me after school tome the good deed they had done. Now, after a year, I am happy to say that it is making a(n) 55in our lives. Instead of always 56 what the day will bring for us, we think about what we can do for someone else.

Who would have thought that trying to do a simple kindness a day would be so 57? I feel my daughters have felt inner joy that you can only 58by giving to someone else from your heart. The best thing is that you feel so great about doing something for someone else; you don't even look for or expect anything in 59. So, when someone does return the favor, it is an enormous and positive 60 .

I was tired and hungry after a long day of work.

When I walked into the living room, my 12 -year-old son 31 up at me and said, “I love you.” I didn’t know what to say. For several 32 , all I could do was to 33 there and looked down at him. My first thought was that he must need 34 with his homework or he was trying to 37 me for some news. Finally I asked. “What was that all about?”

“Nothing.” He said, “My teacher said we should 36 our parents that we love them and see what they say. It’s 37 .”

The next day I called his teacher to find out more about this “experiment” and how the other parents had 38 .

“Basically, most of the fathers had the 39 reaction as you did.” The teacher said, “When I first 40 we try this”, I asked the children what they thought their parents would say. Some of them thought their parents would have heart trouble.

“The 41 is,” the teacher explained. “feeling loved is an important part of 42 . It’s something all human beings 43. What I am trying to tell the children is that it’s too 44 we all don’t express those feelings. A boy should be 47 to tell his dad that he loves him.”

The teacher, a middle-aged man, understands how 46 it is for some of us to say the things that would be good for us.

When my son came to me that evening, I held on to him for 47 second. And just before he 48away, I said in my deepest, most manly voice, “Hey, I love you, too.” I don’t know if saying that made either of us healthier, but it did feel pretty good. Maybe next time one of my children says, “I love you.”, it would not take me a whole 49 to think of the right 70 . 81.A. watched B. observed C. looked D. noticed 82.A. weeks B. days C. hours D. seconds 83.A. stand B. sit C. see D. play 84.A. rest B. time C. help D. paper 85.A. report B. prepare C. answer D. excuse 86.A. help B. ask C. tell D. make 87.A. a matter B. an experiment C. a word D. a sentence 88.A. said ` B. done C. reacted D. explained .A. same B. different C. usual D. common 90.A. suggested B. agreed C. allowed D. planned 91.A. point B. idea C. way D. cause 92.A. body B. health C. life D. study 93.A. have B. know C. take D. require 94.A. bad B. good C. late D. early 95.A. fit B. ready C. worthy D. able 96.A. easy B. much C. often D. difficult 97.A. a more B. a full C. an exact D. an extra 98.A. pulled B. ran C. walked D. escaped 99.A. week B. day C. afternoon D. morning 100.A. reason B. key C. answer D. experiment 答题框(横向)
