摘要：A method of molding hollow bodies by continuously downwardly extruding amelt of synthetic resin from a die to form a tubular parison, closing and sealing the freeend of the parison, holding the parison, cutting the parison thereby forming a cut-offtube with a closed sealed end and blowing a fluid into the cut-off tube retained in themold thereby forming a hollow body. Certain apparatus modifications are disclosed suchthat the step of closing and sealing comprises moving sealing members from outside theparison towards its center, bringing the sealing members into contact with each otherwhile filling the resin of the free end into a space provided between the end of a mandrelextension and the sealing members. The holding step consists of holding a portion of themoving parison which becomes the cut-off tube by its outside surface. The methodfurther comprises during the steps of cutting and sealing, moving the mechanism forforming the bottom, the mechanism for cutting, the mechanism for holding the cut-offtube, and the mandrel extension at substantially the same speed and in substantially thesame direction as the movement of the parison extruded from the die.
