The following children’s books are our top picks to read together every year on Christmas Eve.
Snowden written by Nancy Carlson
This book is aimed at pre-school to the third-grade children, but can be enjoyed by many older children as well. Together, the two learn to ice-skate and discover that “a little magic and a lot of practice” can make all the difference in the world. The story is heart-touching and sweet.

A young boy cannot sleep on Christmas Eve and is swept away by a steam engine on a trip to the North Pole. During the adventure, the message is that believing will keep you young at heart. I know from your letter that you are upset recently because your parents don’t allow you to surf the Internet and hope you spend all the time on your study. I understand how you are feeling now, so I’m writing to offer my advice.
It is really boring to do homework all day without having a rest. I think maybe you consider surfing the Internet as a way to relax yourself. So do I.
However, you should also understand that as parents, they love us very much and care about our study. As far as they are concerned, we should focus our attention on our study instead of wasting time in surfing the Internet.
As for how to solve this problem, I suggest that you should have a heart-to-heart talk with your parents, which can help you understand each other better. Maybe they will allow you to surf the Internet once in a while. I think it is important to develop a pleasant relationship with our parents whatever happens.
I wish you have a good mood and I am looking forward to your early reply.
Yours, Linda
